If GDP is an indication of a superior culture, does that mean the culters of pakistan, saudi arabia, and iran are superior to israel? Also, while 68% palestinians support suicide bombings, I’m sure 100% aren’t happy with the israeli occupation of their home land. Wheres the republican condemnation of that?

They are gaffes because Mitt was on a PR tour to make friends and get votes. What he said in London was insulting and showed a real lack of savoir faire. It wasn’t just a repeat of concerns, it was a misapprehension about the lack of severity of those concerns, coupled with other more important gaffes such as blabbing about meetings with MI6. He hasn’t endeared himself there yet that was the ultimate goal of the whole exercise.

Neither Tel Aviv, nor Jerusalem, are the capitol of the United States. It is time we stopped formulating our foreign policy based on either of those cities, PERIOD! Defending a tiny, tiny, minority, constantly starting wars with their neighbors, stealing their land, building walls, depriving people who’ve occupied the land for millennia, base on an old book, and NOTHING ELSE, is dangerous, and flawed.

If a minority wishes to live in peace, they should be allowed to do so, whether Jew, Muslim, Arab, LGBT, GREEN, YELLOW, OR RED, WITH THEIR RIGHTS PROTECTED! However, if either a minority, OR majority, will NOT accept peace, and TRUE democracy, and RIGHTS, then we should STOP defending them. That applies to Assad, Putin, Netanyahu, or any other “leader”.

Mitt’s only real defense is to take his public speaking advice, from Marcel Marceau.

Actually, if you go all the way back, Jerusalem is the Capital of Isreal. With all of the wars over time people have tried and continue to try and take it away from the Jewish people of Isreal.

Yikes, how far should we drag this? We are all part of a group – homo sapiens – that might have wiped out the neanderthals, and we spend every day asserting our dominance over the rest of the animals on this planet by removing their homes, stealing their land and using mass scale slaughter & cruelty while we are at it… okies? Now, back to the idea of whether Mitt Romney is a dummy or not.

    He’s a bit of a one.

86% of MSM hyped what THEY JUDGED to be “gaffes”…but Romney spoke the TRUTH which the MSM and dems and liberals claim to be NOT “politically correct” (the policies and myths that have created most of the world’s problems and crises)…-God’s Bible calls Jerusalem the Capitol, the Jewish people, regathered by God from the four corners of earth, say Jerusalem is their Capitol….what other of the 192 nations do not get to name their own Capitol??According to God’s Word, 66 books, OT and NT, Jerusalemand the nation Israel are looking forward to an unending, eternal Future. Enemies will be defeated and disappear in the ash heaps of history.

Both libs & cons are misunderstanding the supposed gaffes.

What the libs don’t get is that Romney’s insults abroad are calculated to appeal to cons at home. His supporters will approve of what he said; they aren’t gaffes to those he is trying to impress.

What the cons don’t get is that demonstrating skill at diplomacy means not offending. They are clueless about the concept.

Whilst I respect that we all have a right to an opinion and therefore am ignoring yours, some of that post would be libel if it wasn’t so laughable.“fascist” – nope; democratic.“illegal alien” – nope; meet Obama’s family @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_Dunham “who was elected on skin color alone”- nope, how quickly you forget the ‘anyone but Bush’ vote.

P.S. on the subject of one Romney statement made in Israel, here is an article giving support to the obvious fact that the Jewish state is far advanced when compared to the 6th century culture and economy of Gaza and “West Bank” (Judea and Samaria). http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2012/08/07/a_difference_beyond_question_115026.html
