Laura; Actually, adam, since you spend the most time at home... ...maybe you should go pick out the dog. Adam; That's so sweet, honey. But you should come, too. Laura; It's a date. Adam; Do you leave a tip at dog shelter?
I go to the local shelter with all the dog/cat food coupons I clip (and cat litter) and drop them off. They can use them, or give some to people who adopt for their first pet’s meal. Don’t forget things like cat litter, and old blankets, etc to help the shelters.
In the process of a TNR (trap, neuter and release) program with our local Humane Society. So far have trapped four feral kittens. Have three more and the momma to go! Very cute kittens when viewing from a distance. But, they sure are mean suckers when they are in the cage. Straight out of Dante’s Inferno!

If you give a damn about all the dogs you can’t take home with you, then yes, you do leave a “tip” in their donations box.
