Just read the pre-announcement of Richard Thompson’s pending retirement:http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/comic-riffs/post/richard-thompson-ends-cul-de-sac-comic/2012/08/17/06a7fda6-e819-11e1-a3d2-2a05679928ef_blog.html
Oh, no. How sad. I will miss all the denizens of Cul de Sac. No more Alice, no more Miss Bliss, no more Timothy Fretwork. I wish the best for Richard. He made us laugh.
Best wishes, Mr. Thompson. Someone dear to me had DBS surgery done and though it took longer to get adjusted just so than he expected, it has made his life so very much easier. Hope yours goes well—and thank you for Cul de Sac.
I have to say that I picked this up as another favorite of mine was going into semi-retirement (Foxtrot) so I haven’t been here all that long, and ther’s not years of archibves to fall back on. But tho the run is short compared to some, it was very enjoyable. And maybe that’s the best part about it, we don’t enjoy a flower that lasted only a day any less for it’s short time here. So while it’s sad to see you go, thank you for what you have done.

Poor Peter. The dad don’t get no respect! And Petey is proselytizing for his weirdness. Hang on, Alice!

Such gratitude these little ones show before they sprout some decent frontals. Love ’em anyway!

Thank You for this lovely strip. Please consider rerunning it from the beginning as some of us were late to the party.

I just ordered some of the books. I have one and my calendars but I didn’t want to wait until Christmas in case they ran out.
Richard, looks like you have a LOT of FANS out there. They are selling out of your books.

I’ve written gocomics and requested the strip be rerun from the beginning. Maybe if enough do the same…

Richard still represents the Otterloops so charmingly, dad does the ultimate to give Alice the surf experience and she stresses over a wet hat.
