Must be the space version of the Ford Bronco; with every oil change put in a new thermostat. (Told to me by a Ford mechanic changing my Bronco’s thermostat for the second time. It went bad a third time and I just left it that way.)
Familiarity. It’s the same reason Uhura had to carry a tray with an obvious salt shaker from the studio commissary on it, rather than something exotic and futuristic as a salt shaker (a collection of which eventually became Dr. McCoy’s operating instruments).

Funny! although a light-day is a measure of distance, not time.

I thought everyone knows that a light-day is a knot short of a microparsec, divided by a hectare times the amperage.

What’s that in parsecs?

@LafnLarrry 3 light days = .0025 parsecs
