Burl had to drive a half hour out of his way to find the construction. Then a half hour back.

Burl’s the boss— he was probably an hour late with the keys…

And locked up an hour early to go home.

And spent the time in between eating his lunch and then sending out for pizza.

Sign on door:“Office hours 9am -5pmif we’re not here during normal office hourswe’re probably out.”

Ol’ Burl never misses an opportunity to take his—or someone else’s—ease.I just had a thought. (Don’t worry, I don’t usually get violent with them.) Perhaps the reason Crustwood U-Stor-It doesn’t fire Burl is because CUSI is owned by his parents and if Burl is out of “work” he and Joy will move back in with them. I’d pay to keep them away.

I immediately wondered why? Why would he want to get home to Joy?

I know someone who has FMLA (family medical leave act) and uses it to his advantage whenever he wants a day off. When he’s at work he does the bare minimum, never does anything extra they ask him to do. He will have been there 7 years next month.

There are surprisingly few people now-a-days with any real work ethic. My BF and I have always both been serious about doing a good job and so is my surveyor son who is currenly out of work. The other “licensed” surveyor who has taken his last position can give the employer the fast delivery they want because he does not even peruse the work.
