I am not baseball expert, but I believe a batting donut is a collar or donut-shpaed weight you put on your bat while you warm up. It makes the bat heavier to help you loosen up.
There’s such a whole in his swing that he can’t even hit a can of corn, let alone a frozen rope (although I say this at the risk of starting a rhubarb……) (For those not up on their baseball slang, you can (like Casey Stengel said) look it up.)
