I suspect every kid has, at one time or another, thought as Ruthie is. As they get to be adults, they realize that parents who love you discipline you. Kids who are never disciplined either turn out to be spoiled, entitled brats or thugs.
I see Amazon has “The Blue Guppy Love Story”, by Barry Bowdidge (522 pages), but it is listed as “Erotica”. This may NOT be the same “Blue Guppy” book Ellen is planning to read to Ruthie.

Yes. She has several men who wear 5XL black tee shirts that are still too tight on them. When they scold you, you stay scolded.
