I dunno, I had some pretty good naps in certain classes in high school! (I don’t think you could fail “Consumer Studies” no matter how hard you tried…)

And no more play time (at least structured and provided by school, unless you count goofing off in class, ha ha!)… I remember that once I got to second grade, they stopped letting the kids have play time in class….

Re the “foot-high” stack of books. C’mon, I was only seven! it seemed like a foot-high stack to me at the time. I think the limit was 10-12 kids’ books, and I would get the limit every time. I’m 69 now and have had a library card in every town I’ve ever lived in … and I’ve been known to borrow a card when I was just visiting someplace. My current town has a gorgeous new library, and I’ve seen parents with their little ones checking out 10-12 kids’ books at a time, so the tradition continues. (P.S. My own personal library has about 5000 books, with all my non-fiction books cataloged with the Dewey Decimal system)

Susan – AND the college kids nap in class while their parents work to pay for it! (in most cases, anyway).
