true story: On my first trip to Paris, I was walking through the Louvre and came upon the statue of hermaphrodite (Borghese Hermaphroditus). As you approach, the view is from the back and I was a young guy thinking “all right!, this is one of the most beautiful statues I’ve seen on the tour.” I went around to the other side expecting more of the same. It took me awhile to process what I was seeing. I thought I had somehow wandered over to another statue and it took my going back and forth a couple of times to realize what was going on.
