The caption isn’t wrong or right, it’s a caption. The cartoon is about how many doctors (in my experience) don’t think too highly of alternative treatments.
Personally, I feel that the benefits of fermented foods and the probiotics and enzymes they contain are worth exploring.
FYI: My enthusiasm over making some sauerkraut and natto (fermented soybeans) last fall was lost on my doctor and family, which lead to the cartoon idea.
