I grew up eating povitica, which is Croatian nut bread. Around the holidays, my Grandma would bake up dozens of loaves and that was our treat. Fruitcakes would be left uneaten and usually unopened. I was fascinated by the unnaturally bright orange, red, yellow and green “fruit” that was part of the usually round fruitcake. I’m afraid I have three more FC cartoons sprinkled into the holiday cartoon mix between now and Dec 27th. Thanks for reading!
