Voice: ALICE! That's enough TV! Alice: Huh? Voice: You spend too much time in front of the TV with your eyes all bugged out. Alice: So? Voice: It's a waste of time and it's bad for your eyes! I'll bet it's stretching your optic nerve like a rubber band! Alice: Huh? Voice: I'll bet your optic nerve is six feet long! I'll bet your eyeballs will pop out like yo yos if you keep watching so much TV. Alice: Really? Voice: Now go outside and play! Alice: Okay! Alice: Guess what! I've almost learned how to extend my eyeballs on stalks! Beni: I'm glad somebody is using their time wisely.

Alice will be crushed when she finds out that she can’t extend her eyes more than a fraction of an inch. Dill seems not to care, while Beni is the hopeful soul.
