Mom: I'd like a scoop of chocomochaloco in a sugar cone, please. Alice: I want the blue flavor. Petey: I'll have the beige flavor in a cup. Mom: Here you go, Alice. Alice: Boy oh boy! Petey: Be careful eating that thing. Alice: I am. Petey: You have to rotate it constantly. Alice: Okay. Petey: Hot humid air makes it highly unstable. Alice: OKAY. Petey: The whole mass could shift suddenly. Alice: Okay. Petey: And you don't want that to happen. Alice: Ugnk- Petey: Ancient picts painted themselves to blue to show fierceness in battle. Alice: Petey made me nervous about my ice cream! Mom: Alice, we'll have to hose to off in the drive like last time.
This is a masterpiece. The growing mass of ice cream, Petey’s dire warnings, Alice’s appearance in the final panel, the architectural detail in the first, the notion of “blue” as a flavor. One for the ages.
