Cul de Sac by Richard Thompson for June 04, 2013
Transcript:
Kevin: I hate rhythm clapping game time. Alice: I need to work on my clapping skills or Petey's recital. Dill: You should bang pot lids together. Dill: My brother banged pot lids together last New Year's eve and a policeman came and yelled at him, it was so loud. Kevin: I keep missing. Alice: I don't want the police involved. It'd scare Petey. Dill: Then don't try fireworks! That New Year's, six policemen came. And a fire truck.
This is my FAVORITE type of CdS strip: a bunch of little kids sitting in class, talking about their anxieties and fears like disenfranchised adults… and at least one of them is in the midst of an existential crisis. And because they’re so cute and their biggest problems concern things like clapping and finger paints, I can’t help but chuckle and grin! Excellent work, Mr. Thompson!
