Voice: This scenery is boring! Can we drive by something else? Voice: No its not Alice! Look, there's a cow! What do we say when we see a cow? Alice : HEY COW! STOP BEING SO BORING! Mom: MOO! WE SAY MOO. Petey: QUACK Dad: PETEY.
While on a tour through several New England states, I saw cows but also horses, RV dealers, goat farm, and topsoil distributor. I can’t imagine Alice’s reaction to those.
Reminds me of an Arrogant Worms comedy/irony song “The Mounted Animal Nature Trail” – www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H-uLvhDGBw – the video is not by the band, but the sound track is.
Here’s an a propos Larsen cow comic:http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://p4b.nu/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/farsidecowncar.gif&imgrefurl=http://aromabathjpd.com/gb-gary-larson-far-side/&h=428&w=350&sz=37&tbnid=6ED9ukKliivcdM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=74&zoom=1&usg=__mg8XdhiyApHqcfEl2-f-iARrVCY=&docid=PSdWxFLAoJaYtM&sa=X&ei=W_0kUr3eB82gsQSS7IHYCA&ved=0CDAQ9QEwAQ&dur=733
(Sorry I don’t know how to import graphics.) Even better was the one that I recall as cows riding in a car, beating the doors with their hooves and heckling the people who may have been standing in a field. Couldn’t find it.
I discovered Cul de Sac this morning and started going through a few of the archives. This particular strip has confirmed: I now have a new favorite web comic. This could have have me in the car as a kid, and I know that within a couple years I can look forward to this exact brand of smartassery from my own now-three-year-old.

I knew a woman to whom there was no such thing as a cow – they were all moo-cows.

If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a cow.

And as soon as the car has gone the cows get back up on their hind legs and resume drinking margaritas… Apologies to Gary Larsen.
