No idea what conspiracy theory I called my grandmother when I was a preschooler (1988-ish) in Washington and she in Arizona (pushing daisies since 2008); my other grandmother is in Wyoming (pushing daisies since 1971).

My Grandma made the world’s best strudel. She just did. And if you complimented her, she would just shrug—like, soooo? “Dot’s vaht Grandmas do!” Only, we called her Bubby.

Kevin the Buckethead goes down a rank for spewing such drivel about Grandma and Big Shirley. Marcus earns a “Really Weird Kid” bonus ten points for being at least part-alien. Who knew?

I’m a grandma now, and I still miss my grandmothers. They were both wonderful cooks, I’m pretty good, but not even close to them. They were both wonderful!
