Looks like he has an occasional beer. Not too picky, living in a country known for fine wine.

The oldest person who ever lived, to age 122—Jeanne Calment—also lived in France. She maintained a physically active lifestyle well past 100, and also enjoyed occasional cigarettes!

Looks like the old coot is also drinking wine straight from the bottle — can’t rule that out as a longevity factor.

They say a glass of red wine a day is very good for you.

Eating fungus is NOT picky; it’s the opposite! In my book (and I’m a very picky eater) fungi are strictly taboo.

I can’t imagine Petey eating either mushrooms OR bleu cheese…

I’m going to France in a few months. Maybe I’ll look him up and invite him to dinner.

If you want to live a long life, eating fungus is the yeast you should do.

Calorie restriction can in fact increase your lifespan, and a little wine makes the span much more pleasurable.

Who knows how long it will take Petey to finish his Zombie Toad comic tomb, so I think he is making the right choice.

Not a bad diet, I guess, for the 108-year-old Pickiest Eater; but Petey forgot to mention the bottle of red wine a day (visible in panel 2)!
