started Aug. 25th.In our state they had to mandate when it started because a few school districts were starting August 3rd and then the kids had a week off in October “Fall Break”, then a week off at Thanksgiving, and 2 weeks off at Christmas, and then a 2 week spring break……..was just too much so the state said NO PUBLIC school could start before the LAST Monday in August. I agree it should not start until after Labor day, but no one listens to me either.
I’ve no idea, really. Many are starting around now. Most of my grandkids are in college or finished with first part of that, and none live near me (all in other states).

The school year should just be one month long. school in September then the rest of the year off.

Little man is in his 2nd, full week, of school. They started back on Aug.14th.
