Well… being of the female persuasion, I haven’t worn suspenders, in the American sense, since I was a little kid in Ohio, wearing wool snow pants that matched my coat.
(Do they still make those?)
And … hoping it’s not TMI…. I haven’t worn suspenders in the British meaning for a pretty long time either.
But yeah, I guess I could use a nice stiff belt, please.
Now that hubby has retired, he bought his first pair of suspenders in years! I don’t know if it’s the retirement or the “cutting loose” from having to wear a tie and shirt everyday to work. LOL! And he got them from Duluth, no less. You know, that company that does the work clothes commercials in cartoon form?

I’m with LadyKat. Elastic waistband which handles the occasional overeating.

There was a belt made with an adjuster in the back so you could always buckle into the same hole.

When I got really heavy, I went to suspenders. Now, I’m back using a belt, and feel much better.
