My husband is the do-it-yourself type. His arms are all banged up and we’ve taken to calling him HeadWoundHarry. He is not allowed on ladders tho……….lol
I love old houses & I am not rich; thus, whatever I’m doing for a living, I am also per force a carpenter, plasterer, plumber, glazier, electrician, painter, roofer………
I can rig with the best. Doing pretty finish work, not so much.( some because I am not patient enough)The thing is, material is too expensive to learn on.
Handy? Kinda. I’m building a lighthouse to cover the water pump in the front yard. The wishing well I made is starting to look a little ratty. It takes me a little longer than it used to, but the final product should be worth it.

Gosh…. nobody went to get the question??
pout…..I have to do everything around here!
Ok…. Tony wants to know:
“Are you handy?”
Well, gosh, Tony… didn’t I just show you?I think it was very handy that I got the question!
And I guess that also means no one else was handy.
Maybe I can’t build a skylight… but I can be handy to have around.
You could also say that about Peter… cos while he probably can’t build one either, …you do need him around to have a strip.

If that is a sledge hammer in Panel 3, then this skylight project is NOT a good idea.

@Tony“Are you handy?”I’ve worked/hung out with my grandfather for years, and he’s quite handy, so a lot of that handiness has worn off on me.

Sky lights are easy. Restructuring the cut roof and ceiling beams, shingle repairs, flashing, and insulating is a whole different issue.

Reasonably handy. I work with hearing aids so it’s a must at work.

Nosirrum apparently posted while I was typing… But it didn’t show up on my computer right away, even though I refreshed.
Also, on some forums, it’s been posted that same the comments are out of order (again) in yet another GoComics glitch.
so, whatever the actual posting order, sorry, nosirrum… Didn’t mean to imply that I don’t think you’re handy!
