I don’t know any cartoonists personally, but I have had small conversations with received shout outs from Chip Dunham here on GoComics and have a print from Thom Bluemel that was made especially for me.
I haven’t met a cartoonist that would admit to it. My Grandson is going to the Pacific Northwest College of Art hoping to be one. (I couldn’t talk him out of it). If that happens, I will know one pretty well.

I’ve always been a huge comics fan. Grew up on comics, really appreciate cartoonists.
I’ve met at least half a dozen who came to speak at the Schulz museum here…
Asked questions, got to have nice conversations afterward with several.
Met another at a local event. She lives nearby, and had even read my comments on her strip. We occasionally correspond.
Talk to several now and then in the forums, including that missing one here, but haven’t met face to face.
Never met him, but rOdd Perry, who did the original Brevity strip with Guy Endore-Kaiser, drew my avatar for me, very vaguely from a photo I sent.
He offered in the forum cos I was a loyal fan.
Being on GoComics has been great!

I must be running in the wrong crowd. I don’t know any professional cartoonists.

Here’s something that someone else said, Peter, For others to love you, you have to love yourself.

@Tony:
Not face-to-face, but I’ve met you and a few others online. One or two of them actually responded to me. And now, you might all respond to today’s…
Second “Daddy’s Home” Question:
What show has a “hypnotic effect” on you?

Several emails. What I want to know is why would anyone be a sun critic?

Aw… thank you, Apikoros!
But you’re valued too…. great comments .
In fact, I personally value each and every person who is trying so hard to stick around….
The jokes, comments, lessons, stories ….. rubbing shoulders wit other comics lovers, cartoonists, even the publishers…..
I’m still in awe that it happens, even after about 9 years, first on Comics.com then GoComics.
Yeah, I got banned…. but it was a mistake.
I don’t like the changes here, miss the pictures.
They’re high-handed in their dealings with us…
It’s not perfect, and maybe they’re even trying to run us off.
But the awe remains, and a certain appreciation.
It’s their site, and they let us read, comment, meet, talk to cartoonists.
I’m not leaving.
I’ve made good friends here…. don’t tell me I haven’t…. and bonded over comics and puns….
two things most of my RL friends think are crazy.
It’s good.
