sounds like to me Mother didn’t learn the periodic table very well in school (no, not something dealing with menstruation… okay, I went too far on that one)
Um… I don’t think that’s Peggy’s speech balloon on the left, in Panel Three…
I think that’s Elliot, responding to the not-quite anatomically possible suggestion she offered in answer to his request.
Not quite sure what voodoo has to do with it…but yeah, do do it, if you can.
As for me…. I may not have the power…but now I do have an earworm.
Oh…. and thanks to everybody for various suggestions yesterday about my internet.
I already know what’s wrong… DSL to my whole neighborhood is slow, due to very old wires, no matter which company I buy it from.
Nobody wants to invest in upgrading cos it’s difficult, and not as remunerative as installing fiber in brand new tracts.
But my ISP offers a great bargain on landline and internet. No way can I switch to cable and/or AT&T and pay triple what I pay now… (and the latter would use the same ancient wires anyway.)
They’ve offered me a newer, faster type of service, for the same low price… they just have to send someone out to install it.
Sigh…. they’re very busy…. and their hours are early, mine are very late…
I’ve been a bit under the weather, and the weather itself as been obnoxiously hot…
For the longest time, it sounded to me like Andy Gibb and his more famous brothers were singing “Can I hold you in uranium mines?” in the song Shadow Dancing. I suppose articulation is the first thing to go when you become a pop singer.

Plods, that is very much like a like an exchange between Cary Grant and Myrna Loy in Bachelor and the Bobbysoxer, 1947.
Richard Nugent: Hey, you remind me of a man.
Susan Turner: What man?
Richard Nugent: Man with the power.
Susan Turner: What power?
Richard Nugent: Power of hoodoo.
Susan Turner: Hoodoo?
Richard Nugent: You do.
Susan Turner: Do what?
Richard Nugent: Remind me of a man…
