I at times let my dishes soak (in soap and hot water); gives them a chance to loosen the material on them that I cannot scrub off.

    Bigfoot or UFOs?

    No.

And you, Tony, seriously should pull yourself together regarding Valentine’s Day. Feel free not to engage in it (rim shot), but using the f-word on it is going too far imo.

Appropriately, I am currently in Isabela, Puerto Rico. Weather is about 83 in the day and about 72 at night. I’ll keep a look out for the Chupacabra. By the way, the earthquake situation was grossly exaggerated by the press; imagine that. The stories of the hurricane, Maria, were not.

Soaking is a good idea. Water will dissolve almost anything if given enough time.

Yeah, make sure you wash them before you put them in the dishwasher.

People who don’t let their dishes soak tend to wind up with scratches on things. Soaking loosens up anything stuck on, so that you rarely need a scrubber, so no scratches.

I put dishes into the sink and fill them with water immediately. After dinner, and a bit of soaking time, a day’s worth of dishes takes MAYBE 5 minutes.

I tried telling my own father this, lo these many decades ago – he didn’t listen either. He usually was more logical, but not for that.

Seriously Dad, soaking really does help sometimes. Especially if food is really dried and caked on.
