Dave’s significant other. She is loosely based on his real life wife, the wonderful Carla. Maude is smart and independent, in other words, a direct contrast to Dave.

Ernie is Dave’s dog, based on his real dog named… Ernie. His main job is to make snarky comments and get underfoot, just like the real life Ernie.

Jonesy is based on a number of cats from Dave’s life. One of them really was named Jonesy, although not his actual cat. Jonesy is barely tolerant of Dave, Ernie and all these stupid national days. Unless it is beneficial to cats, that is.
