Sounds confusion between “pins and needles” and narcolepsy. With narcolepsy, you’re awake but have no voluntary motor control. It’s a lag between the brain waking and the chemical flush that re-enables your muscles. Voluntary muscles have to be “turned off” during dreaming, so you don’t thrash around and hurt yourself.
