Ok, today is a regression in artwork.

B.O. Is back to holding the bag (literally!). The new villain isn’t as defined in his silhouette. The Twiddler has changed his tie since yesterday. He had a bow tie and now it’s a long tie.

Name that villain! “Twiddles”? “Thumbs”? “Dexter Rotatius”? He’s the leader of “The Opposables”.

Well Brine, you of the sharp eye have spotted it - a New Asistant in training, or the next Cop on the Tracy beat?

“Jim Brozman” who is he? Anyone know?

I believe Locher’s still doing the writing, at least for this story. In fact one of DL’S trademark “contradictions” has already kicked in. On Friday the Boss on hearing the complaint of the Jackpot winnings told Curly “fix it!” today it’s “just as planned>”

Those swirling rings on the the thumbs ARE a little different and I must conceed intriguing.

But perhaps the Boss’ name is “Two-Ring Jack and those are “symbols” of his last “conquest” as he sings “Shake, Shake, Shake Senora, shake your body line, Shake, Shake, Shake Senora, do it all in time”!

Seriously, more info is needed on this new Assistant(?) Is there a protocal in the business if being lsted second meams you are the writer? Collins was listed AFTER Fletcher as he was after Locher, and as was also Kilian

Grok right again, look out for repetition all this week. It started around the edges last week

I guess some of you guys don’t read the comments before you post your own. I thought Grokenstein laid that info out very nicely and early.

The characters’ hands are not mangled; must be the new artist.

The torch (drawing, anyway) has obviously been passed. There’s a clear difference in the way the characters are drawn today vs. as recently as Saturday. Compare how B.O. was drawn both days. The henchman, too. Even the money bags (and the dollar signs on them) are drawn differently.

(Plus, whatever that blob on the henchman’s suit is has moved from his lapel to his shoulder, but that could be a Locher inconsistency.)

Welcome to Jim Brozman. I hope it’s the moment for Dick Tracy for a new era of great comic strips. We want new and modern stories, with great villains, great evil plot and great characters.

The henchman looks like he’s wearing a mitten in the second panel.

I agree with Carlo1. Hopefully Mr Brozman can bring back the intriguing stories and great stylized art that we were spoiled with when we had such writers/artists as Chester Gould, Rick Fletcher and Max Collins. Let’s give him our best wishes!

Welcome aboard, Jim Brozman! No one welcomes you more than your fan club here! Some of us are in good graces ALL of the time; some are in good graces some of the time; and then there’s a few of us who……..

Check out TMS’ website - “Dick Tracy by Jim Brozman”:

    http://www.tmsfeatures.com/comics/comic-strips/dick-tracy/

The Biography link talks about our new artist. Interestingly enough, it looks like he created a comic book named “Naperville’s Finest”.

Thank you, neonleon59! Almost a whole week of the strip weeks in advance. Does one eyed jack look like smilin’ jack to you guys? Looks like the boss is due for a radical fashion makeover! Could these guys be remnants of the 52s? Will there be a king, queen and 10? Will Brozman’s suite story tank? Or will he wind up royally flushed with success? Is it in the cards? Ok, I’ll shuffle off now before someone decks me.

His Tracy leaves much to be desired in some of those samples.

Grokenstein says: I guess Locher can retire happy now, secure in the knowledge that he’s leaving the strip in hands even less capable than his own.

If this guy’s been inking Locher since 1988, give him a chance to de-Locher himself. I think he may prove himself over time as his Locher-itis fades. Do you think he may need a complete Locher-ectomy?
