The storyline is getting more complex, more interesting, every day. Who is this Hot Rize lookalike? And who’s the dude being shuffled into Doubleup’s cell? At first I thought maybe Junior undercover, but this guy has humongously broad shoulders….
On a more serious note, and since this all ties into Mr. Crime, and given all the (formerly dead) faces we’ve been seeing lately, how much longer until we see Tonsils Part 2?
All loose ends are coming together. Those readers who were complaining about the shortness of the previous stories may now consider the last several months to be just different chapters of one big long incredible tale. I love it!
Odd that the jail birds are still in street clothes. Oh wait! “City Jail Holding Cell”, so I guess they don’t get uniforms until they’re in a real jail or prison.
I’ve never enjoyed Dick Tracy as much as I do now!A main story, sub-plots simmering, great characters (old and new). I never know what to expect! And while we have this interlude, Morning Gloria and Mina are probably mulching those two terrorists!I haven’t had this much fun from the comics since Marvel Comics’ relaunch of the X-Men back in the 70’s!
Chester Gould once drew a “gag” cartoon for LIFE Magazine in which we see Dick Tracy facing at least 10 villians at the same time, and Tracy is saying “What’s the idea?” In the corner, Mr. Gould himself is holding an art gum eraser and saying “I just wanted to see how you’d handle ’em all at once.” In the actual strip, however, he rarely had more than one or two major villians at one time. Usually, it was one major criminal and a few ordinary henchmen. This new “Mr. Crime” appears to be recruiting an army of crooks for his organization. This is very interesting, how these story threads are being woven together now.
I became a Clive Cussler fan some 40 years ago with his ability to weave various plots and subplots into his books. Mike and Joe remind me of this. Thanks guys!
Wow, I’ll just say again. I was there following and bemoaning the last couple years before this new team, and wishing the whole time a new time would show up that could treat their material properly. Whatever is happening with the fate of the newspaper comic strip, I am really enjoy Dick Tracy these days.
Didn’t know Mumbles had such broad shoulders … I recall when George Ozone admonished him with saying “I’ve got more steam at 84, than 10 of your kind!” That must have hit a nerve, so maybe he started working out to build himself up.

First, Hot Rize (or is it her sister Quick Rize?), now Doubleup. Doubleup?
This is starting to get a little interesting here…

Impressive….Mr. Crime is signing up a virtual army of hard-core felons and hardened vicious mad-dog killers to launch some sort of super crime wave…..
