Good thing for Lizz cousin Mina is wearing sneakers rather than shoes with harder, less flexible soles. And speaking of flexible, it looks to me as though Lizz, if she acts quickly enough, could drop out of that bear hug before Mina gets it really locked in!
I can’t get over the action. This is such an improvement over what DT was before the new team took over. Someone commented over in the Alley Oop forum that DT is now one of the best, if not the best, continued story strip in comics today. I heartily agree,
@david42It’s a shame that we still don’t have Annie around to share in the fun. Speaking of fun, does anyone else here check out Rip Haywire? I first “discovered” the strip after gocomics merged.
Thank you AGAIN to Joe and Mike for bringing Tracy back! Incredible action this week. And to think it was just a few short months ago that we were treated to drivel like this:
Neonleon- Thanks for the reminder of how well we have it now! I’ve tried to get those horrible memories out of my memory bank, but they keep coming back! Back then, we were all pulling for Mordred!
That was very disappointing to me. Here DL had the opportunity to really develop a super-baddie in his last hurrah. But no, in his usual style, he makes the FBI’s most valued criminal another doofus, just like the guy who was chauffering him into the drink with his famous Power Approach jump that he copied from a 1978 Dukes of Hazzard show. In retrospect, I think “The Amos ’n Andy Show” had more intelligent characters.
Mike Curtis & Joe Staton saved this strip and, if there is any justice in the world of syndicated continuity comic strips, put in place a road map showing how to save other dying strips … only a few left in print and some of those are gasping for air.
@APersonOfInterest —I agree completely.Mike & Joe (and Shelley & Shane) have made Tracy interesting and exciting, with clever plots, sharp scripting and inspired artwork. As Davidf42 noted, Alley Oop is slogging along, still mired in a plot that was underway when I began reading in March, with no end (or action) in sight.
I like what the team has done with Tracy. Now if they could just bring back Annie and Brenda Starr and a speed up afew other “heritage strips”, that would be great.Today’s action – I have faith that brains will still win out over brawn.
Man this brawls been going on all week! And Mike I love the fact of what going to happen with tomorrows strip. As much as I’d like to see how this is going to end.Taking time to remember is most important.
For her size, Mina’s mighty quickAs she delivers a powerful kickShe hopes to put Lizz in her placeBy bashing her pretty faceYou can tell by this latest attemptFor Lizz, she has nothing but contemptBut Lizz is made of sterner stuffShe’s really gets going when things get roughA quick sharp step with her heelWill make Mina really squealAnd while she’s doing the one foot hopUp the side of her head she can bopI know this line may be out of placeBut, does that plant in panel 3 have a smiley face? Now we must return to the sizzling actionWhere Mina seeks to put Lizz in tractionThere’s no comfort in Mina’s hugOr friendliness on her mugFor Lizz, it’s just another dayFor which she receives no combat paySo until Monday we must hold our breathTo see if Lizz is squeezed to deathBut it’s a safe bet she will prevailAnd the miscreants will go to jail.Thank You, Wiseking, Sisyphos, VistaBill, Det.DD, Doc 1947G, mzkdad, Chikuku, billdi, ReneTray and margueritem.
