Measure out everything, Burl. You wouldn’t want someone to get a single mm more than you. And Joy, maybe Marlene could return the favour and tell you that you have gas. Re: Sue’s nephew’s return home, why would anyone want to show some love, thanks and respect? If I were a returning soldier, I wouldn’t want people like the Pennys around!
1) Give JOY a jug of Laundry Detergent,2) Give JERRY a razor,3) Give Verla a Green Blouse with Orange Flowers,4) Give Grandpa Dale a new sweatshirt “A PENNY for YOUR THOUGHTS”5) Say “Good BY” to JOY and BURL.
Just started reading this strip, could someone please let me know who the main characters are and how or it any are related to the others? Love what i have seen so far. Can relate to most of them. Thanks.
Susan, you’ve been to my house. I have used the Joy with scrubbers in it on a few of my delicates because I wanted a quick rinse out to put them on the line. Detergents used to not have all that extra *&%$ in it, and just be for washing.Almost looks like the horns are covering the finials, and I don’t care about “find it’s” but Bigg should not be so rude to those who WANT to search and wait until late if he wants to show he’s SO clever ;-P
And I DO like Tide “Free and Gentle” for machine washing and I dry everything on the line to save electricity. If I wanted to tell a good friend about any problem like dandruff or halitosis etc, I would at least gift something they could use for the problem. I have passed out samples of my breakfast bars at large groups where most are very large along with my recipe. After losing all my extra weight etc. I’d like to help others.
@PapaBear, just noticed! Burl and Joy are husband and wife and all the rest are their MIL and various neighbors, especially Verl (single) and her BF Jerry who is very gross and hairy. They are all seriously overweight and have no idea about what it is to acknowledge the existance of others. There are also 2 unfortunate kids-Timmy in grade school and a girl in college and both of them seem normal in spite of the rest of the bunch. The small town of Crustwood seems to be in IL and have only one grocery (+ a discount store?) and these people eat wherever they are invited or at “all you can eat” type places and try to load purses and pockets. You will also see Burl’s place of work where he plays games and pilfers more stuff. Basically that’s it.

G’morning, all —
Yeah, Leaky….. some posters really know how to be polite, don’t they?
And how to say things in “new and interesting or exciting ways”…..LOL
Gotta be a teenager.
Anyway….. once more, no keys to friend’s houses. Must be cos of all their “favors” and acts of kindness.
I bet Timmy says “please” and “thank you” at least three times as often as Joy.
Wait, can’t just be a multiple. Three times zero or twenty times zero is still zero —
But Timmy at least says it sometimes.
Does anybody understand Marlene’s mug? Looks like “My ♥ 8” or maybe that’s a B.
Mikie, if I were NOT a returning soldier (oh wait… I’m not) I still wouldn’t want the Penny’s at my party.

Good Morning, all! Burl’s chair is missing its finials again today. Those finials are up to something!

GS — would Joy know what to DO with a jug of detergent?
I mean, we think it’s a hint but would she understand?
When she “rinses” her things in the kitchen sink, and needs a little detergent, she uses the liquid Joy.
She thinks it was formulated for all her needs.
Oh, I guess she washes sheets and towels sometimes, and Burl’s clothes every now and then.
Maybe the gift would let her see that Tide works better than the stuff from Dollar General.
Not that she cares.

Ya…. she’d just re-gift it to MA….. and then bring her wash over at lunch….! ! !
