Now that’s right proper, Mrs Burl Penny. But just who is this Burl Penny when he’s at home?

Marg! They let you ou… you’re back!

Good Morning Crustwoodians ….. and welcome to the bake sale.

Wow what a surprise…. they want 2012 baked goods. Who’da thunk. My guess is they’d also like them homemade. The silver lining for Joy, though, in bringing 2-or-3-year-old commercial baked goods that nobody wants, is that she can take them all home again, and eat them herself….and it still looks like she tried to do her part!

It also looks like she got started already….Mmmmm… doesn’t the sight of her with crumbs all over her face make you hungry for a 2009 SnoBall? It was probably already a week out of date when she bought it at the Hostess Outlet Store, and THAT was 2 weeks before she froze it.It doesn’t make everything look fresher to sell a Valentine’s Day cake in May….nor does putting that “e” on “Olde” make that stale bread collectible. On another note…Julie posted here that she keeps the Penny’s in the 90’s, which is one reason all their household “stuff” is so 80’s. But here they are in 2012….no older, no wiser…. Only in the comics!

Okay big fail here Joy. Baked sale means home made baked goods. Ibet the booth next to you with the home made cake is doing good. Why do you even bother ? Civil defense needs weapons WHY ? A armed Burl is dangerous and how did he get to be civil defense anyways. tScary

Well, it is official, My last day at work is next Friday. Our whole department is being outsourced to another company who is sending their own people. The lovely part is if we want our severance pay, we have to train the people who are taking our jobs.

The DS from two days ago was SO appropriate I printed it out and hung it on the bulletin board in the corridor.

While the Crustwood Civil Defense is at it, what about a boatload of IED’s and RPG’s, they’re probably available and cheap on some website somewhere. How about a drone while we’re bidding?

    Susan your comments are spot-on.

Folks, this is the weekend that we observe Memorial Day; the time when we remember those who died in the service of our country. I’d like to honour the sacrifice of LT John Roy Chapman, USN who had his life taken from him on April 3, 1967 in Quang Tri province, South Vietnam. He was my shipmate, good friend and a hero. And Leaky, John Paul Jones was not our first CO!

Good morning all, good to see Marg bck. Our group has pot lucks and bake sales and some folks DO bring store bought (but at least new). I only take and buy home-made.

Susan and leaky saw your comments last night. Have fun leaky!

Susan sorry about your dog. I had two that I had for 16 and 17 years and they have been gone about 20 years plus now, and I still miss them terribly!

Susan as for summer, I love the heat and humidity, the thunderstorms, everything that summer brings! Going to the Amish Greenhouse today to get some plants. I used to start a lot of my own, but I don’t anymore.

I appreciate all of you condolences. No worries, I am pissed but not doing any retribution, outside of putting the comic up on the bulletin board. Well, one other, I am going to design a t-shirt to wear at the end of the week. It is just going to show an electric cord laying in front of a wall socket, like it has just been unplugged. I work for a large power company. I won’t say it’s name, but if you rearrange the letters of their logo, it spells APE.

I even wrote an email to our supervisor to thank him. I found out that the people of our department downtown were escorted out as they were told they were losing their jobs. Our supervisor was given that option and he said, “no”, he trusted us and would let us finish out the duration. I thanked him for at least letting us walk out on our own with a little dignity. or course this is all before they see my shirt! lol
