Turkeys are allegedly so stupid that they can drown in the rain by staring up at the drops falling from the sky until their mouths/lungs fill with water.
I agree with Lunatic and Susan, the analogy must be the stupidity of turkeys in the rain and the Pennys with falling debris. I personally think that it is an insult to turkeys, but that’s just me.Re: the lounger on sale, you can bet your sweet bippie that they will search out a damaged one—or could they damage it themselves?—and ask for a further discount.
Turkeys are smart. They seek shelter when it rains… The Pennies are ,,, well.. They go to falling debris and look up. It seems others in Crustwood do to. Are they related?
But in Crustwood, the trukey tale is true. And “Little Moron” jokes are astute observations of the average man. And swampland real estate sales draw crowds. And the reason the gang is there is NOT the ad on the back of the paper, but because the Penny’s are actually shopping for a new sidewalk. They hope to have better luck than the time the wanted a new garage.
I got the analogy right away too and it seems there is something in Crustwood’s water as otherwise the Pennys would have no friends. Although poultry is not bred for intelligence either, I agree that comparing them to Pennys is an affront. I’ll be cooking a good organic fresh turkey breast this week because I’m almost out of it. I need to make more breakfast bars and pizzas too. I like to prepare most food in advance when I’m here at home.
I does not appear that they went to the lounger sale as they are in front of a 5 and dime. With the state of the economy that IS the dollar store for the current generation (based on purchasing power since I was a kid).
I am not God, but as a witness I can tell you turkeys DO fly.If anyone tells you differently then ask them how the turkeys get high in a tree to roost.
I love the comments more than the strip sometimes. Kinda like being at a party where everyone is talking at once. And now that Tech has joined us, it is entrertaining to the max!
Comments here are always fun. My lover is not into cartoons as I am- when we went to Ted movie I had to explain about Family Guy. I have always been into every kind of art and have imitated everything from Picasso, Renoir, Monet, Neiman and Chagal to Warhol and all the cartoonists here and elsewhere. Working as an engineer/designer just paid the bills. We both enjoy everything together however and the same politics, food and most entertainment. I only have to wait another month before being together for another month ;-D

And of course… the sidewalk sale is on recliners…A must-see….reclining being the Pennys favorite form of exercise.

I’m glad I came to the comments section. The analogy between the 2 frames makes perfect sense now.
