What were you expecting, easy dancing music? And who bought the tix in the first place, I can’t imagine either of them spending that kind of money. And if they did, they would stick it out to the bitter end, just to get their money’s worth!
I suppose they didn’t like the stones concert as there were no fried snacks available and the pot they bought tasted awful and stuck in their teeth. What is the point of paying to go anywhere that does not feature junk food options.
actually, you CAN exchange or get a refund on a movie ticket provided you leave relatively soon after the movie starts…at least at some theatres. I know because when i was still working and ‘on-call’ we had to leave a movie about 15-mins after it started when I received a page (yes, this was back in the day of pagers) to head into work. we were given a pair of passes to any movie, any time at that theatre.

Walked out on the Stones? Yeah, sure they did. Although these are the Pennys. And those guys were ushers. Right.

I was wondering, too, about the Pennys paying for Stones tickets…but then I remembered they’ve been together since high school.
They’re in their late 50’s…
Whether the Dinette Set takes place in the 90’s, as Julie said, or today, they graduated from high school between maybe 1960 and 1974.
I know in the late sixties, concert tickets were about 5 or 6 bucks…
But jobs for college students paid about $1.50 an hour….and $1.50 would buy you a movie ticket, or dinner.
Around 1975 I turned down the chance to see the Stones for $12 in San Francisco because it was too expensive….
Maybe they went way back then….scalpers were making a living reselling those tickets….
for the same $30 or $40 apiece that people are asking now for a torn stub from a 1978 Stones concert on eBay ….. LOL

Who would scalp a ticket to see a Lassie movie anyway.
They could put it in their yard sale for a few dollars anyway.
Is this a movie after the Chinese dinner yesterday? I guess Ma was so embarrassed she went home via taxi.

How on earth did they confuse the Stones with Debbie Boone?
