First thing that’s going to happen is Toys-R-Us is going to be on him like a duck on a June Bug, and it won’t be to congratulate him on his new endeavor! Then he is going to twiddle his thumbs until he goes out of business. Then he’ll be thinking of something else for his mother to finance.

Stupid cold snap, I lost 3 tomato plants full of tomatoes! And if you bring them in, they just rot. Should have winterized them along with the turkey. He gets testy when he is cold.Jerry should get winterized too, that wig will freeze and pieces will snap off, happened last year and it wasn’t pretty.

Yeah, cos a suave, sophisticated businessman like Jerry knows all about corporate identity.

That’s why he plagiarised an already trite name…That’s why he wears an $8.99 toupeefrom a Carole Wright catalog… it’s all about the image, man.His years of working the cash register at the formal wear shop have given him a knowledge of high-end finance…he can usually give the right change, even for a fifty! …and an insight into proper attire…well… rental attire for people who don’t own a suit, and think purple velvet is a cool choice for a wedding tux.

Meanwhile, yeah, Toys Я Us is relentless in protecting that “Я”,,,,

Two stores have opened here that I know of, since they came to town, that attempted to use “their” symbol…why anyone would bother, I have no idea.

Booze Я Us and Paper Я Us…that last is hard to even say…Both were sued, and changed their names.I had a friend who was eager to see Paper Я Us when it opened. I told her to go quickly…. an over-specialised, obviously under-capitalised tiny store with a stupid name, on a busy street, with no foot traffic wasn’t going to last six months. Sadly, I was right.

    2Old… that’s sad.

I love my tomato plants…. all zillion of them,,,,

And yeah…. taking the tomatoes inside too green never works for me,But wow… you still had 2 full plants?I’m still getting a few cherry tomatoes…the bigger ones are about gone.We had such an odd year, cos of the drought, they all stopped flowering in September, usually their busiest month. Some have been dying; some are soldiering on.A few weeks ago what was left of the Sungolds decided to start flowering again…. I don’t want to discourage them, so I try not to show any concern in my eyes when I water them… and I never mention autumn…. much less … winter…. sshhh..

Well the first thing about marketing is you have to sell yourself, and one look at Jerry is a big NO SALE…….. except to Verla.

And Joy just winterized her Pumpkin (Jack o’lantern) flag and is putting up one with a turkey. Who flies those seasonal banners?

Mikie is right, that any endeavor of Jerry’s must be financed by his mom, and I think a subscription to Forbes would be a waste for any of this bunch, and I don’t think they’ll watch Lou Dobbs, even if they tape it.

2old, have you ever tried wrapping tomatoes in newspaper and storing it in a dark cool dry Place? It’s worked for me many times. If it doesn’t work fried green tomatoes are wonderful!

Speaking of ripening, my navel oranges have still not ripened this year (often some are ripe by Halloween). But white grapefruit (pummelos) have some ripe already in another area (back yard).
