Timmy’s tee, “Y Me?” Response, “Why not you?” Early lesson for you, Life’s a bitch and then you die. However, Miss Jenny and I have been known to take a really long ride to get or do something when the whole idea was simply to get out. I live in Houston, the 4th largest city in the country, and my favorite route to the grocery store goes down about a wooded road a half mile long. In it you could almost believe that you are the only person around—and then you come out the other end. Still, I do it because it pleases me. Miss Jenny thinks I’m crazy, and she’s right.
For the Pennys, open spaces, country roads and trees are only filler, if not obstacles, in between the patches of civilization…which is defined as “having big stores and chain restaurants.”
I hope Timmy develops an appreciation for something beyond strip malls…he might grow up, rebel, and end up a forest ranger in Alaska, just to get away…Or he could absorb the Crustwood lifestyle, and become so dependent on mass culture he has a panic attack if he walks too far into the park. I hope not!
Meanwhile…. almost 4 am in California right now….I’m almost never on the comics this late!I guess I fell asleep at the keyboard… sigh…but I need to go to BED!!
Emjaycee.. um… the new comics come out at the same moment for everybody….but at whatever time it is in your time zone then.
10:10 pm Pacific time (US)11:10pm Mountain12:10m Central1:10 am Eastern (US)6:10 am London … I mean GMT… I mean UTC….etc.
It’s impossible for things to post in one place before another…. cos once it’s on the internet you can see it from wherever you are…
If you’re in the Eastern time zone, and want to see Luann without comments, 2:30am is way too late.
You can try waiting with your finger on the mouse to refresh exactly at 1:10am…
and chances are someone will be there already cos they hover and pounce so they can vie for first.
I feel pretty lucky, in that, I live several thousand miles from the nearest WalMart! We don’t really have any chains of that size here in Norway. Not enough people! the town I live in has a population of about 580, we’re lucky to have a small grocery store. However the beauty of the area more than makes up for all of the stripmalls and shopping centers! 9 hours difference from California, Sunshine. Love your comments, all of you. Have to order some brain bleach one of these days.
When will Timmy learn that the farmers and ranchers are the ones that feed us? I am surprised they are wondering so far from food. But they could have packed the trunk full of their staples just in case. One never knows do they?Timmy asks the good questions though, too bad he gets stupid answers. we went to K mart for a real tree, NOPE only fake ones at 60.00 for the 4 ft. up to 300.00 . Went to Lowes , my 11 yr grandson bought a nice one for 35.00. He wanted it so he got it with his b.day $$. Merry Christmas all .

Do you realize we are the only two still up? Even Miss Bev went to bed early. Kinda eerie.

I happen to like living 250 miles away from the nearest WalMart or any shopping mall. Less riff-raff, malarkey, shenanigans, hooligans, etc.

Kansas City has no more Kmarts.
