So glad to be American. I visited Brazil in 2000 and was told after I got there in no uncertain terms DO NO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING EXCEPT HUMAN WASTE all paper and everything else goes in the little trash cans next to the toilets. Their plumbing could not handle that kind of volume. In reality it couldn’t really handle the waste. I’m not talking just one city. I visited 7 large cities on 2 weeks. On the up side even the out of the way places and public toilets had hand held bidets. To you and I they are kitchen sink sprayers.
