I once had a roommate that “disappeared” for two months without a word. She left her cat and all her stuff and came by when I wasn’t home to pick things up once in a while. When she finally “reappeared” and I presented her with her half of the bills as usual she balked. She said since she wasn’t home (she actually owned half of the house) she shouldn’t have to pay. I told her I would try that out on electric company (it was winter) and mortgage company and see how that worked out. I also had to present a bill for her cat’s food and litter since she left nothing for the cat at all. After filing a lawsuit I finally got my money. Yes moved out soon after and had to sell the house.
