Personally, I’d choose sometime in around the 1900s to 1930s. Not a perfect time, to be sure (labor strikes, Prohibition and the rise of organized crime, the Great Depression, WWI, and the build-up to WWII), but there was still a lot of exciting things taking place in that time period too, and it’d be cool to be a part of that.
Plus, that was also around when the art deco style was in, which I’ve long adored. :D
