As the mother of a nearly-two-year-old I can tell you there’s that treacherous time – about five minutes before and two minutes after they actually close their eyes for good – that the slightest knock, bump or change of ambient noise pitch can ruin the last hour’s work spent bent over the cot. Sadly, Sophie would be “strung up” (figuratively, of course) for pulling that stunt in my house.
