Thank you all for the pitti suggestions. Found my brown Annie. So many others I found had curved noses and circles on the eye. Not the dog my g_g loves. For some sensible reason his mama won’t let the live dog in the bed so there will be a cuddle one. Had to use my sister’s Amazon prime.
What’s the point of having an alarm if it only goes off at fixed times? It’s when the really loud noise happens when you least expect it that you’re the most alarmed.
Never needed an alarm at our house, we had Alex who as a puppy barked up a storm and growled and carried on and on when someone knocked at the door. Plus we lived in a very big house with big windows in the living room where he sat in the chair and watched for anyone to come up the drive way. Especially the paper boy who he decided he didn’t like cause he tossed the newspaper at the front door instead of just putting it down by the front door like all of the others we had over the years did. Oh he didn’t like the Fed Ex guy either. UPS was OK and the garbage men he was fascinated by their truck.
Since I have always lived on a farm and kind of isolated, any dog I have ever had gets treats for going berserk when anyone is outside. My early warning system.

OK, a couple of things. Sophie’s supposed to be old pro, and she doesn’t know you bark first and ask questions later?
The other thing, about that barking in the middle of the night for no apparent reason, can we talk?

My small dog barked at 3 am and wouldn’t stop. I got up and found a 7 foot alligator on our front porch. Good dog.

If someone sold Sophie to Doug’s parents as a potential guard dog…they got taken!
