Cooking is an art, while baking is a science.

I feel this! I’m a decent cook, but baking is definitely beyond my skill level!

Yes and no! I’ve added and or subtracted on recipes and didn’t have a problem with the results! Depends on WHICH ingredients you add/subtract…

I’m pretty good at both. BUT! Just recently I made the mistake of using 3/4 of a cup of oil instead of 1/3 in a waffle recipe… I had to abort. What a waste of ingredients in this pandemic world! I was SO mad!!!

While you taste your dishes before to serve them instead to cook them and serve them expecting everyone thinks is fantastic, as most cartoons does (=P)

. . . That is pretty much how my grandmother cooked and baked, never needed a recipe! Everything she made was perfect! I should have paid more attention! :)

My former M.I.L. used to cook like that.

My F.I.L. would give his assessment…. “Wow Sals this is good. Too bad we’ll never get it again.”

Do not mix up sugar and salt. Or ketchup and sambal. Making proper tea is also an art.

If it tastes great, give yourself a lot of credit. If not, then blame the cookbook that you got the ingredients from.
