Voice: I'm sorry, Mr. Andres, but the figures you've submitted on behalf of the oil industry do not quite square with your earlier projections. In fact, Mr. Andrews, the F.E.O. has now reported a net difference of 2.5 billion barrels unaccounted for! With public suspicion being what it is today, perhaps you'd like to explain the discrepancy? Andrews: Okay, so we've got a little tucked away for a rainy day...
I pretty much missed this whole era, I was living on a mining claim in a National Forrest. Our fuel consumption for the entire month was about 1gal. of Kerosene, 1/2 gal. white gas and 8 gal. of gasoline. No electricity, no natural gas and a solar heated shower. I WAS in town on a shopping trip the day Nixon resigned, heard the news on the car radio on the way. I went to 6 or 8 parties that night, everyone I knew in town was throwing one.
