Doonesbury by Garry Trudeau for June 25, 1993
Transcript:
Zonker: Boopsie, do you have a favorite past life? Boopsie: Hmmm...that's a tough one...I guess it would be Lorna Doone. Zonker: Lorna Doone? You were a cookie? Boopsie: No, Lorna Doone, the daughter of a Scottish noble. During the time of Charles II. Zonker: Oh...that one...But wasn't she fictional? Boopsie: Yes, but she was based on someone! Stop being mean.
Nope, she was the daughter of a brigand chief from Devon, about as far from Scotland as you can get and still be in Britain. It was the 17th century, though.
