Alex: How beautiful... I just wish I had someone to share it with. Hey, Drew, you ever count the LEDs in your room? Drew: What? Alex: You know, all the LEDs glowing on your peripherals and chargers... Sometimes after I turn out my reading light, I lie in bed and count them like little colored stars. Drew: Wow... look at 'em all! I must have 50! And half of them are blinking! Alex: Isn't it thrilling? A roomful of technology in standby mode, ready to leap to life and serve us! Drew: Okay, so now I'll never get to sleep. Thanks a lot. Alex: Oh... sorry. Drew: It's like freakin' Mardi Gras in here! Alex: Just put socks over them. That's what I do.

I used to work the graveyard shift at WIUS at IU-Bloomington. For signoff, I would put on the Grateful Dead’s “Feedback” and turn off all the lights. Lie on the floor and just watch the lights on the console.
