Doctor: Mr. Duke, I'm afraid we're going to have to keep you with us for a few days for observation. Duke: What the hell for? I'm fine, doc! Doctor: You're suffering from what we call the "Stockholm Syndrome," which is the tendency of a hostage to sympathize with his tormentors. Duke: Tormentors? Are you crazy? How do you explain all the good times? The soccer games behind the compound? The late nights of drinking? Doctor: All typical elements of the captor-hostage relationship. Duke: The sailing vacation in Greece? Doctor: Less typical, but not unheard of.
It’s funny being old enough to remember these strips as they came out. But it’s irritating that they miss so many of them. I wish they’d run them all.
