Ralph: What do you want? You're acting like you're hungry! There's plenty of food in you dish! Look! Why do you act like there's nothing to eat when your dish is full? Dumb cat! There's nothing to eat in here!
My buddy has a weird cat. At dinnertime, even if there’s food in the dish, the cat won’t eat it unless my friend puts it back in the bag and scoops out fresh cat food.
Totally different scenarios here. Cats only have one option, so they aren’t picky, whereas a human may have different desires based off of dietary need- i.e., salty when needing salt, meat/eggs/nuts when needing proteins, etc.

@GGR – My cat used to do the same thing, so I would grab the bag and pretend to put fresh food in the bowl. Cat never knew the difference.
