Every supermarket here in town has had pumpkins for sale since mid-September. And candy and Halloween cards have been available since late August. If you think that’s bad, wait till the day after Halloween, when Christmas stuff starts popping up.

BikerRayThey are not selling Halloween fireworks like they used to? [conflated with Guy Fawkes Day not observed much in Canada]..Of course, there should be a holiday between Halloween and Christmas, but the corporate rulers only make money from it indirectly and so don’t want to encourage people to vote, lest they lose and the people win.

No reason you can’t carve a pumpkin every few days, provided the rain was good and the supply holds out.

WDemBlkThere is Thanksgiving in Canada too, but it is past for this year. Shorter growing season, so earlier harvest. It occurs at the same time as Invasion Day in the US. Uh, I think it is also called Columbus Day by the invaders.

The biggest mall in our area has had a special “Christmas store” since mid-September.

@hippogriffFunny you call it “Invasion Day” as if the Indians that were still around when Europeans arrived in the Americas were not invaders themselves, taking territory and eliminating entire tribes from previous migrations. It would be funny if It weren’t so sad. And so many people buy into your lament.
