I agree with Ralph, I live on a hillside bluff and have three dry creekbeds which when it rains , not so dry, and I love it. Nature, can’t beat it, I feel for all you city people. I could never live on a postage stamp again.
Loved wading in streams, but not barefoot. The things that live on the bottom are less a problem than the things people leave behind— broken bottles, lost fishing tackle…
Nowadays, I wouldn’t do that without wearing shoes. So much junk in the bottom and viruses/bacteria in the water. Get a scratch and lose your foot from an infection. But the thought is nice. Last time at a nice beach, I got a cut from broken glass buried in the sand.

Make sure you check between your toes for leeches when you’re done

Ralph may be a dunderhead at times, but you can’t tell me he’s not a good father when he does stuff like this.

Ah! The creek that ran across my grandparents farm was like ice water in the summer.
