Len’s full of it. The metal live traps will last and last so just dab your peanut butter in there, set the trap along a wall or some other border surface where you know they run and wait for a clean capture and then drop it/them off a ways from home.
If you keeps snakes; a free food supply. I see a mouse who runs around the carport outside my door and I am not plagued by intrusion. I put out nuts and sunflower seeds over winter and they always disappear. I have so much crap there the rabbits take refuge in the nooks and crannies and drop babies. Got two or three I am seeing now that they have “left home”
We had a mouse that was too smart for all kinds of traps. Nothing worked, not even poison. Finally just found all the places in the walls he was getting out and sealed them up. Prevents future visitors, too…
I once had a mouse in my pantry that discovered an unopened jar of peanut butter. It could smell the contents, but couldn’t get it open. It ripped the label nearly clean off trying to get into it.

Hey, if it means you don’t have to spend the money yourself to do it…
Honestly, though, bailing out of using the humane traps just because it costs a bit more is sort of a lame excuse in the long run.

She wants to save the mouse, until it gets in her favorite cereal and leaves little “presents” in the box.

Thankfully both our cats are good mousers. We hate those freaking mice!

Carly must’ve used Lucy’s psychiatrist’s booth to come up with that idea.
