And it works. Kids need to know what is acceptable and what isn’t, what is expected. It is training for life in the real world. EMPLOYMENT. If you don’t do what is expected, you end up on the unemployment line. You are paid to do a specific task, your employer trusts you to do it to the best of your ability. If not? Someone is waiting in line to take your place.
I don’t get this, either they just got married and he’s trying to adjust into this new life, or this had been going on for years and only now is he deciding to take up this role?(New to this comic, started during the bicycle marathon)
Now see, that’s what I was afraid of Len doing. As discussed, I agree with Len that Carly can carry her own backpack, but I think Len’s…how shall I put it…overdoing it stressing the point like this. You can still be a firm and unbending parent without coming across as domineering like this, after all.
That might be what Abby’s really uncertain about it, in fact—she knows her husband’s tendencies on these sort of things, after all, and may fear that, good intentioned though it may be, it might make the problem worse before it got better.
Overkill much? Wait until the last minute and yell at the poor child? You know you need to sit her down at a more convenient time to discuss the consequences of her actions, right? SMH!
