Well, now that is peculiar. My failure: The details I cannot quite see But it does seem familiar. A trailer? Gantries don’t bend I see Flask rests her hand on the “hero” And is laying it on pretty big He does not take a stand, and says zero Well, he did volunteer for this gig But he sees what she can’t; she’s distracted And her field of view is too small What has got his attention attracted? Aaron, I don’t get into this commenting one panel at a time stuff. But I cannot find an e-mail address for you, so this will be my one time.I think you have a great great talent. I love the lines you draw. The action, the emotion, all come through cleanly and clearly and easily. Your stories are affecting and true. As a writer you have as much or more talent than with a line. I am really impressed with how you capture the animal likenesses – some of the “pros” like Picasso and van Gogh and Renoir and so on could not draw animals with the right proportions – and you do, and give them emotions on the side. I do not understand why animation studios or newspapers are not snapping you up and making you substantial offers … but then the business side of art and creativity continues to astonish me with their short-sightedness and lack of originality – none of which you have. Keep up this most excellent work of yours. I love the heart and soul and nearly unblinking look you have at these communities of outsiders as they struggle to deal with themselves and each other. I look forward to book versions of these stories some day, even through Dark Horse or Eclipse or Viz or whichever publisher finally wakes up and realizes just how good you are and the great work you are doing.-N
gee I was just gonna comment on the nice use of black in Flask’s hair against the sky, and ask if there’s a ‘lightly-tinted’ black there to further suggest the shape of her head; in some lights I see it, in other, not. but hey— what Nathan Fout said says it for me, too: thank you.
She’s smiling. Flask is smiling. A tiny smirk, yet it is still there…or I’m just I’m just misinterpreting the 4th panel. Strange twinkling lights usually mean trouble…like Topsider trouble. I think its a transport’s headlights. Or several transports’ headlights…
